Louise Sclafani, OD

Dr. Sclafani provides expert care for patients who have corneal disease or eye trauma. Her areas of focus include contact lenses, keratoconus, bifocal and challenging contact lens fits, and laser vision correction consultation. She has earned the status of Diplomate in Cornea, Contact Lens and Refractive Technology by the American Academy of Optometry.

Dr. Sclafani is also an active researcher and educator. She serves as a teacher and mentor to ophthalmology residents, optometry externs and medical students at the University of Chicago. Dr. Sclafani accepts numerous invitations to speak at conferences and seminars around the country. She has received several awards and honors for demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and teaching skills. Dr. Sclafani has also been appointed to positions of leadership in several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Optometry, the American Optometric Association and the Illinois Optometric Association. Additionally, she has served as a consultant for the Chicago Blackhawks.

Murray Fingeret, OD

Dr. Fingeret, a graduate of the New England College of Optometry, completed a residency at the Joseph C. Wilson Health Center in Rochester, New York. Dr. Fingeret is Chief of the Optometry Section, Brooklyn/St. Albans Campus, Department of Veterans Administration New York Harbor Health Care System. Dr. Fingeret is a Clinical Professor at the State University of New York, College of Optometry, a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, the National Academies of Practice, American Glaucoma Society and sits on the Board of Directors of the Glaucoma Foundation. Dr. Fingeret is executive vice-president of the Optometric Glaucoma Society as well as chair of the Glaucoma Diplomate committee of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Fingeret, the recipient of the 1996 Otsuka Glaucoma Educators Award from the American Academy of Optometry and 1999 AMSUS Federal Service Optometrist of the Year award, has authored numerous articles and co-authored the texts “Atlas of Primary Eyecare Procedures” and “Primary Care of the Glaucomas”. Dr. Fingeret sits on the editorial boards of the Journal of Glaucoma, International Glaucoma Review, Primary Care Optometry News and Review of Optometry.
