Diana-ShectmanDiana Shechtman, OD

Diana Shechtman, OD is an associate professor of optometry at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry, where she serves as an attending optometric physician at the eye institute and diabetic/macula clinic.
Dr. Shectman is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and she is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO), as well as the Optometric Retinal Society (ORS). Her area of interest has centered on retinal disease and other ocular pathologies. She has participated in various research projects, authored numerous posters and publications. She is a member of the editorial board for Optometry times and Review of Optometry, where she co-authors the monthly “Research Review” column. She also is a member of the macular degeneration association and ocular nutrition society advisory board. She has lectured on a local, national & international level on areas in retinal disease.

 

 

Bill-MillerBill Miller, OD

Dr. William L. Miller is an Associate Professor at the University of Houston College Of Optometry and is Chair of the Clinical Sciences Department. He received his O.D. from The Ohio State University and completed a combined M.S./Residency in Cornea and Contact Lens. Dr. Miller also earned a Ph.D. in Physiological Optics at The Ohio State University. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a member of the European Academy of Optometry and Optics, International Society of Contact Lens Researchers and International Contact Lens Educators. He is on the editorial board of Eye and Contact Lenses and is a manuscript reviewer for Optometry and Vision Science and Contact Lens and Anterior Eye. He also serves as a contributing column editor for Contact Lens Spectrum and has written a chapter entitled “Refractive Correction with Refractive Surgeries and Prosthetic Devices” for the most recent edition of Borish’s Clinical Refraction. He also contributed two chapters in the recent edition of Ocular Therapeutics Handbook and writes a column for the Ocular Surface Society of Optometry’s newsletter. He is involved in the both the didactic and clinical education at the University of Houston participating in patient care in the University Eye Institute’s Cornea and Contact Lens Service. Additionally, Dr. Miller’s research focuses on tear film abnormalities and the effects of contact lenses and refractive surgery on the cornea with several publications in the area. He also lectures nationally and internationally in the area of contact lenses and anterior segment disease.
